New York Hudson River Run to Pier 40 and a Manhattan Plaza Day Pass
Updated October 3, 2026
Run the Hudson River Park waterfront south from Pier 84 to Pier 40, loop back north through the West Village and Chelsea, then recover at Manhattan Plaza Health Club in Hell's Kitchen.
Hudson River Park stretches about four miles down Manhattan's west side, and the riverside walkway is about as flat as running in New York gets. Cyclists get a separate lane, so you can hold an even pace with New Jersey across the water. The base is Manhattan Plaza Health Club, a few long blocks inland in Hell's Kitchen. A carry-on fits in its day lockers; check with staff that your pass allows heading out and coming back in. As of October 2026, Bounce takes full-size suitcases from $2.90 a day.

Next come the rooftop park on Pier 57 and the concrete tulips holding Little Island above the water. Pass the Pier 45 lawn, then turn inland at Pier 40 by Houston Street.
