Chicago Lakefront Trail Run to Museum Campus and a Loop Day Pass
Updated October 2, 2026
The best skyline run in Chicago is the Lakefront Trail from Ohio Street Beach south to Museum Campus and back through Grant Park, finished with a day pass and hot shower at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness Illinois Center.
Chicago's lakefront is the reason locals put up with winter. This flat loop follows the pedestrian side of the Lakefront Trail from Ohio Street Beach, past Navy Pier and the mouth of the Chicago River, along Monroe Harbor and around the Shedd Aquarium to Burnham Harbor, with open water on one side and the full skyline on the other, then returns north through the gardens and fountains of Grant Park. Afterward, a full-service health club a short jog inland sells day passes to visitors, with sauna, steam room and proper locker rooms.
